How do I book a session?
A. Send me an email at taliateresaphoto@gmail.com and tell me what kind of session you're interested in and a little about yourself! Or, you can click "Book a Session" or "Contact" on this website to send me a message.
What should I wear?
A. This is a big question because it inevitably will vary by the type of session and your vision. I am always more than willing to help work with each person in more detail to help personalize the experience and make it the best it can be. I often have people send me clothing options, pieces, or pictures of themselves in outfits so we can figure out the best combinations for their session. What people wear greatly impacts the photo.
Here are a few general guidelines (but ultimately, wear whatever you feel most confident in!):
- Avoid neons. I love bright colors too, but if they're too bright and bold they will cast color onto the skin and face and pull focus as well.
- Textures, layers, and accessories often photograph well and add some dimension to your base outfit. A mix of patterns and textures is very visually pleasing - just avoid any patterns that are too busy and bold. Think headbands, scarves, and jackets - etc.
- Details matter! Well-groomed nails and clean shoes make a big difference.
- Think "coordinated" - not "matchy." The days of every family wearing a denim shirt and black pants are over! Coming up with a defined color palette to help guide your outfit selections is an excellent start. I can assist here, as well, as it's important to take the setting and photoshoot "vibe" into consideration. A mixture of light and dark colors as well as a mix of vibrant and neutral tones helps the group have visual interest and contrast.
- Wear what YOU feel good in and make sure it fits well and is comfortable. If you have to constantly readjust your outfit or you don't like how your bra straps show or it makes you feel self-conscious in any way, it will be easy to focus on those things when viewing your photo gallery. So make sure you love your outfit and feel great!
- If you have transitional eyeglasses, consider if you'd like to switch them for standard lenses prior to the photo session. Transitional eye lenses turn dark when exposed to light - and we want to be able to see your eyes!
What is your image turnaround time?
A. This varies by session type - if you need images by a specific date, please let me know prior to booking so I can make sure to schedule you accordingly.
In general, your proofing gallery will be ready and uploaded for you to choose your images within one week of your session date.
Your finished gallery with your chosen and edited final images will be ready within three weeks of you selecting your photos.
Weddings, large events, and birth stories have a six-week turnaround time (and I always send off some sneak peeks sooner!).
Do you offer prints and wall art?
A. I surely do! I have beautiful photographic prints and metal wall art, to name a couple keepsakes. I even have a program that lets me design gallery walls and shows you what prints will look like in your own home - to scale! It's important to display pictures that are important to you - it's easy to let years slip by without having them printed. One of my favorite things is seeing my work in person and my client's reactions when they get to see their portraits displayed.
Do I have to share my images?
A. Nope! I always love to show off my beautiful clients, but what I share or don't share is up to you! Some sessions are more private and intimate and will be for your eyes only if that is your preference. Everything I post or use in my portfolio was done with my client's consent.
